On August 1 2025, a delegation from the
Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), led by Deputy Director
General of Department of International Cooperation Mr. Sun Jian, visited National
Research Foundation (NRF) in Singapore. As part of the visit, the delegation
also toured Shanghai Jiao Tong University Asia-Pacific Graduate Institute
(SJTU-APGI).
The delegation included senior officials
from MOST and representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Singapore:

Professor Peng Yinghong, Dean of the institute, delivered an overview of its mission and milestones in education and research. He highlighted major initiatives such as the Energy and Environmentally Sustainable Solutions for Megacities (E2S2) program and the Carbon Negative Synthetic Biology for Biomaterial Production from CO₂ (CNSB) program, outlining their frameworks and latest progress.
During the discussions, Mr. Sun expressed strong interest in the CREATE framework, inquiring about its funding model. In response, Professor Peng elaborated the operating mechanisms of CREATE programme and emphasized that CREATE provides an excellent platform for highly collaborative, international, and cutting-edge research.
The meeting was attended by key personnel,
including Vice Dean of SJTU-APGI Professor Xu Min and
CNSB Programme team member Professor Zhang Jingxin.
