  • BIOGRAPHY

    EDUCATION

    Prof. Xu received his Ph.D. in Accounting from the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. He currently teaches Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Multinational Financial Management. His research focuses on the role of accounting information in capital markets, conservatism, earnings management, corporate governance, environment management, and securities market regulation. His research papers have been published in the Journal of Business Ethics, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, China Accounting and Finance Review, China Finance Review International, Economic Research Journal (in Chinese), China Accounting Review, among others. He is the winner of 2001 the Tsinghua SEM Kobayashi's China Economic Research Fund Award, 2003 Tsinghua University Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, and 2008, 2010, and 2011 Shanghai Jiao Tong University Excellent Annual Assessment Award. Prof. Xu visited Columbia Business School and Hong Kong Polytechnic University as visiting professor. He is a council member of the Board of Directors of China Accounting Review, and an editor of the Journal of Systems Management (in Chinese). In past ten years, he served as an independent director for nearly 10 companies.
